Meet Dr. Guevara
Dr. Guevara grew up in a family of six children with his mother and father, a small town physician. He would often watch his father, and learned his caring and his respect for patients from his father's example. Dr. Guevara's philosophy has always been to provide excellent orthodontic treatment in a warm, friendly, professional environment.
As a teenager, Dr. Guevara enjoyed visiting the office of his family dentist and that is when his love for dentistry and interest in orthodontics developed. He is passionate about orthodontics and providing excellent care so that a beautiful smile and a healthy dentition can be achieved for his patients. Nothing makes him happier than to see the excitement in the faces of his patients when they get their braces off and the improvement in their self confidence and self esteem.
After earning his B.S. from L.S.U. in microbiology, he went on to receive his D.D.S. from the L.S.U. School of Dentistry where he also completed his two year orthodontic residency. In addition, he was an assistant clinical professor in the L.S.U.S.D. orthodontic department for seven years. He published his orthodontic research in the Angle Orthodontic Journal. He is board certified and a member of the Louisiana Orthodontic Association, Southern Society of Orthodontists and American Association of Orthodontists. He takes extensive continuing education and uses Invisalign, Damon appliances, and temporary anchorage devices (T.A.D.s).
On a personal side, Dr. Guevara and his wife are the proud parents of two, and the prouder grandparents of two. They are actively involved as members of Crossfire Church in Slidell, Louisiana. Dr. Guevara has been doing Christian missions for over twenty years as the co-leader of Dos Amigos, which provides dental and medical care to the people in the Mayan-Kechi villages of Belize. Dr. Guevara has a heart for the people of Belize, but when he's not involved with work or missions, he enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, tennis, nutrition, fishing and reading. His favorite verse of scripture is Psalms 23:2-3: “He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.”
